  • I started down this path over 10 years ago. I grew up always wanting to be a doctor and to help care for people. That dream soon changed as I ended up in the hospital for over 5 weeks with a brain tumour at the age of 19, just days after finishing my final exams. This experience was one of the most terrifying and beautiful experiences of my life. I have learned what it feels like to lose control of health, feel helpless, know something is not right in my body but not be able to find answers nor feel heard. I also know what it is like to have to integrate back into life without feeling well, having no energy and feeling constantly stressed. I was determined to understand what had happened to me and what this would mean for my future. Dr. Brandy James, ND is a strong believer in finding and addressing the root cause of the imbalances in health and disease. She takes a holistic and individualized approach to medicine and utilizes a combination of botanical medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, lifestyle counseling, Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture and is also trained in Neuroemotional Technique (NET). An integration of these is used to treat a wide range of conditions including but not limited to Digestive concerns, Women’s Health, hormonal issues, pediatric health and a special interest in addressing Stress and its numerous effects on the body.

  • As a Naturopathic Doctor in Calgary, and as a mother of two, I am passionate about doing my part to leave the world a better place. Broadly, this is an overwhelming task, but in small pieces, it is amazing and fulfilling work filled with countless small miracles along the way. I believe firmly in the tenement of doctor as teacher, and I aim to support my patients to feel better because they eat better, think better and live better. I am excited each time I see a patient gain confidence in recognizing and treating conditions naturally where possible. My choice to pursue environmental medicine as a postgraduate area of study makes perfect sense to me as it enhances my ability to achieve my life goal. I see pollution and the changing environment no longer as simply a concern for those with asthma or chemical sensitivities, but a part of the human condition, which must be integrated into the way we see and use medicine for all.
