My journey on the path of Yoga started in 2005, when my mother, who had already been doing Yoga for a few years, convinced me to try a class. I did and that was the beginning of my journey on this path. After my class ended I felt alive again. I could breathe, and more importantly realized how long I had neglected my own needs and wants, and that it was time to reclaim them. After a few classes I decided that teaching was what my heart wanted. So I listened. Once I taught my first Sun Salutations in my first 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in 2006, I knew this was my path- sharing and teaching Yoga. Throughout my twenties I traveled all over the world and in 2008 I combined my passion for travel with my passion for Yoga and traveled to India for a second 200 hour Yoga Teacher training program with Yogi Vishvektu, a prominent teacher with a Ph.D in Yoga. It was the most incredible experience of my life. While there I met women who inspired me and truely taught me what it was to be a women. After returning from India I made it my mission to share the inspiration and teachings with other women. I have been teaching at studio's around the Ottawa area, as well as corporate classes at businesses such as Mitel and Alcatel, and also served as a Lululemon Ambassador twice.. Since 2006, I have also completed an 800hr. Yoga Philosophy course by correspondence with Georg Feuerstine, studied extensively with Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Sara Avant Stover, and Gabrielle Bernstein. I am a student of A Course in Miracles and continue to expand + grow through my daily yoga and meditation practices. I split my time teaching, leading, and mothering in my home town of Ottawa + training, travelling, and restoring in my hOMe away from home, Nicaragua.

On a physical level, yoga has healed crippling back pain and has allowed me to move pain-free in my day-to-day activities.  On a mental level, yoga has taught me to make peace with my inner chaos and to quiet my inner judge.  And on a profound level, yoga has taught me that it is not our circumstances that cause us discomfort, anxiety, or stress, but it is always our reaction to our circumstances.  We can't control everything that happens, but we can make a decision, in each moment, how we want to react and who we want to be in the face of a difficult moment.

Honestly, if yoga had not come into my life, I'm not even sure I would be here right now.  I suffered from severe depression for many years.  I explored several different therapies and medications - nothing really seemed work, until I found yoga. As I practiced more and more, the sadness and darkness that I carried with me started to lift.  I could feel myself coming to back to life, depression dropping away little by little each class.  It's not that I don't ever feel sad anymore, but my relationship with intense emotions has changed.  Yoga is a tool that allows me to FEEL and experience emotions for what they are - no more stuffing emotions with food or numbing myself with other vices.  When I am practicing consistently, I feel strong physically and mentally and I trust and have faith that everyone (including me) and everything in this world is perfect and just as it should be.

Andrea began practicing asana (the physical practice of yoga) in her early 20′s as a means to open her tight overworked muscles after years of training for both marathons and triathlons. Her first experience with yoga lit up her life and offered a method of training in a new way. Her practice continues to evolve by drawing inspiration from many different forms of yoga particularly Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin and Power. She is known for combining strength and power with softness and fluid motion in a creative flow wrapped together with a little yoga humor. All while instilling the importance of proper alignment and smart sequencing to create a balanced practice with both Yin/Yang Andrea completed her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in 2004 at a summer intensive program in Ottawa led by Yogi Vishva and Chetana Panwar. Andrea has taken numerous workshops and trainings over the years but has learned the most from her ever growing students and is currently teaching over 20 classes a week. Currently based in Ottawa, Canada, I lead yoga classes locally and yoga teacher trainings and retreats internationally. Not your typical yogi, I discovered yoga out of necessity after a debilitating knee injury getting up out of my office chair. Yoga didn't come naturally to me, but it turned out to be the holistic approach to health and well being that I truly needed.Ten years later, my mission is twofold: to share the gift of yoga with as many people as possible, and to highlight the connection between mental, physical and emotional aspects of being human.I've had the honour of being featured in Elephant Journal and Tabaret (uOttawa's alumni magazine). I was recently named Ottawa's Top Yoga Instructor for 2015 (FACES Magazine) and am a strong supporter of community events through my work with Lululemon, GlowFair and the Museum of Nature.

Natalie experienced yoga for the first time as a teenager, attending classes with her mother at their local community centre. But it wasn’t until she was studying Communications at Simon Fraser University that she really fell in love with the practice. A good friend drew her in with weekly home studio classes, eventually encouraging her to step into a studio… And there was no looking back! She became fully immersed in the yoga world, first just as a student, then finding work in a studio, where she was able to combine her knowledge of media and Communications with her love of yoga.At first, she came to the mat purely for the physical benefits; enjoying the feeling of being in her body without chronic aches and pains (especially those that come from long hours at the computer), but quickly realized the emotional and spiritual benefits of the practice as well. Natalie’s education includes a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training with Semperviva Yoga in Vancouver, BC and a 200-hr training in Ottawa with Louise Cameron. She is also a registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher. While living in Vancouver, Natalie had the opportunity to study with world renowned teachers such as Max Strom, Michael Stone, James Bailey, Teresa Campbell, Bernie Clark and Gloria Latham.

For close to two decades Loren has been active with yoga, first with an eager focus on asana which evolved into a connection with the deeper teachings of the yoga tradition. Initially certified to teach in 2004, Loren immersed himself in more training, including Ayurveda. Loren was introduced to Yogarupa Rod Stryker in 2007 and began studying with him the following year.  Yogarupa saw a spark in Loren and welcomed him into the ParaYoga family. With this Loren's inner Guru began to shine. In September, 2011, Loren became Canada's first certified ParaYoga teacher. He continues to study with his Guru and with other teachers of the Sri Vidya tradition at the Himalayan Institute. Loren is passionate about an authentic approach to yoga that upholds and respects the incredible work done by the sages of the tradition. As more people are exposed to the benefits of yoga on a physiological level there is a need for teachers who will be able to positively affect the psychological and spiritual levels as well. This integrated approach takes years of training and personal practice. Working with teachers and students who are ready to embrace this approach, Loren offers his voice to guide them on their journey to deep and abiding joy.
