About Janine Woo
Janine started yoga approximately 20 years ago. Her classes can be challenging or heart warming and calming. Janine believes you need a sense of humor in life and likes to remind her students to not be so serious with their yoga. A balanced practice of effort and surrender.
She studied Classical Hatha Yoga and then Ashtanga Vinyasa for many years. She studied with both David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff and the late Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois to name a few. She learned alignment principles with Iygengar yoga and Anusara yoga. Restorative, Yin and Viniyoga helped her slow down. She is student of Baba Hari Dass as well. He teaches classical Ashtanga which includes pranayama and meditation.
When Janine had her son in 2007, she trained in Prenatal yoga; Post-Natal Yoga. Because of some difficulties, she learned about therapeutic yoga. This has helped her better serve students with injuries. Janine feels honored to have helped trained students to become teachers in yoga teacher trainings. She has taught anatomy, pranayama (breathing) and yoga therapeutics.
She teaches individuals and group classes.
Currently she is studying the Franklin method to broaden her skill set.
