About Joy Sereda

Joy is the Clinical Director of Summit Counselling Group, and is committed to providing an environment of comfort, trust, and reassurance for every client who walks through the door. She works collaboratively with her adult and adolescent clients to help them address the troublesome memories and experiences from the past, the struggles and difficulties of today, and the anxieties and fears about the future. Joy holds dual registration as a Registered Clinical Counsellor and a Registered Social Worker. In addition to her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology, she has extensive education in a variety of therapeutic approaches. In practice Joy primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and EMDR; however, she firmly believes in the importance of flexibility in counselling and tailors her approach specifically to each client. She is well respected in her field, and possesses comprehensive experience working with individuals facing an array of difficulties. She has worked with clients from all walks of life, in a wide variety of environments including a local health authority, non-profit organizations, a lower mainland school district, federal government programs and in private practice.
